On to Grand Coulee

Pat Ryan’s story: “Today the team rode from Pateros to Grand Coulee in Washington. We traveled 55.4 miles and climbed a total of 2,836 feet. We left Pateros at 0900, two hours earlier than originally planned, in order to make it to Grand Coulee in time to catch the fourth quarter of the Navy-Notre Dame football game being played in Dublin, Ireland. We made it in plenty of time, but no one in our chosen bar could get the game on any of their TVs. Turns out we missed the bitter end of a 42 - 3 defeat. The day turned out to be tougher than expected, as the heat and wind are real east of the Cascades. We also had our first two punctures of the ride. Tomorrow is another test, with roughly 90 miles and 2,800 feet of climbing as we travel to Cheney, Washington.”
