Navy 83 Ride Across America: Veterans Gear Up for BamaRama 500 Fundraiser
[Alabama - March 4, 2024] - Navy 83 Ride Across America, a group of dedicated Navy veterans from the Naval Academy Class of 1983, is thrilled to announce their next epic journey: the BamaRama 500 ride for Veterans causes. Following the success of their inaugural fundraising ride in 2023, which raised over $750,000 for veteran organizations, the group is eager to continue their philanthropic efforts.
On October 4th, 2024, the Navy 83 riders will embark on their next adventure, codenamed “BamaRama 500”, starting from Huntsville, Alabama. Over the course of ten days, they will traverse 500 miles, showcasing their endurance, camaraderie, and unwavering commitment to supporting fellow veterans. The journey will culminate on October 13th in Gulf Shores, Alabama, where participants and supporters will celebrate their incredible achievement.
"We are honored to continue our mission of giving back to those who have served our country," said Scott Watson, a member of the Navy 83 Ride Across America. "The support we received during our first ride was overwhelming, and we are eager to make an even greater impact with the BamaRama 500."
The riders will be raising funds for the Naval Academy Foundation, Operation Hearl our Patriots, Team Rubicon, Operation Patriots for Children, Operation Patriots for Children and K9’s for Warriors. The riders pay all their own expenses so that 100% of the funds raised area given to the Veteran organizations.
